OUR WHY

We desire to make a difference in the world by helping church leaders, pastors, entrepreneurs, and artists turn their visions into tangible realities.

We believe creativity and innovation are the result of practice, intentionality, and discipline.

It's trial and error, experiment and failure. If we wait for inspiration to hit or the muse to move us, we will remain stuck. To partner with God in the recreation and renewal of the world, we believe there are six key mindsets that ignite our creative impulses and shape our innovational disciplines: prophetic imagination, creating instead of criticizing, playing the long game, embracing obstacles as opportunities, growing as polycentric leaders, and working better together. Listen as Pastor Heather shares how these mindsets lead to postures and practices that spark reformation and renaissance.

BELIEFS

At the most fundamental level, we embrace the first and core doctrine of the early church: Jesus is Lord.

Additionally, we affirm the tenets of the Apostles Creed and Nicene Creed. The Scriptures that ground our approach to creativity and cultural renewal are as follows:

  • Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

    —Genesis 1:26-27

  • We recognize there are spiritual, physical, and social dimensions of healing and renewal and seek to offer solutions to problems.

“They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.”

    —Isaiah 61:4

  • “Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

    —Jeremiah 29:5–7

  • We operate incarnationally and contextually, with presence and proximity, to proclaim the gospel.

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

    —John 1:14

  • We honor others by celebrating their gifts and finding platforms for their use. We honor God by honing our gifts and humbly striving for excellence.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

    —Ephesians 2:10

  • We believe the church should offer a counterculture narrative and should image a foretaste of the new creation. We strive to be peace-makers, grace-givers, tone-setters, and truth-tellers.

“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.”

    —Revelation 7:9
